About the artist
EKEMIO (Esther Rodrigues Pereira\, 1976) is a self-taught artist. No art school\, no set plan. She soaks up everything happening around her: impressions\, energies and emotions. She expresses this through drawings\, paintings\, stone and bronze. Her work usually features people\, or something resembling them: eyes\, mouths\, heads. Often raw\, sometimes strange. But humour is never far away. She also photographs her own work and then has a bit of fun tinkering with it digitally. And AI? Yes\, that too. But not to create art with it. She lets AI look at her art\, and from whatever it thinks it sees in it\, EKEMIO then turns that into art in her own way.
